Challenge

Werther’s Original is a classic, voted as one of the top 50 candies of all time by USA Today the brand has been around since 1903. When the team at Werther’s Original came to us they wanted to look at innovative ways of driving trial specifically with consumers who had not trialed a product which they had just recently launched.

The challenge was clear:

  •  Find high-value consumers
  •  Offer them the opportunity to try a brand new SKU
  •  Measure ROI: % of time we reached the right person and % redemption on follow-up offers

Solution

 

Werther’s Original partnered with Sampler to launch a month-long digital sampling campaign using Facebook to activate their target market. The campaign ran for one month (March 2016), with the Brand publishing on their Facebook page encouraging users to claim a free product coupon on Wednesdays and a $1.00 off coupon on all other days of the week. Users were then also encouraged to share this offer with a friend.

Results

During the 30-day campaign, the brand team was able quantify their results by leveraging our analytics dashboard.
  • 49,987 product impressions with unique high-value consumers
  • Over 5,000 samples distributed
  • 28% conversion to purchase past trial
