The news is out! Sampler was selected as one of 8 lucky startups set to collaborate with Mondelez as part of their Shopper Futures program. The program is a 90-day partnership between startups, retailers and brands aimed at building efficiencies within the shopper experience. “We’re thrilled to be working with some of the most ambitious entrepreneurs and retailers across North America, to help shape the future of retail both in-store and online,” said Kim Yansen, Director of Field Shopper Marketing for Mondelez.
To kick things off, Mondelez paid a visit to the Sampler office to develop the pilot strategy. During day one, the Albertsons/Safeway team spent time with us explaining how product sampling plays a role in driving sales in retail locations. While it was no surprise to us, it was great to learn more about how brand shopper marketing teams work directly with the retailer at encouraging brick and mortar traffic. We even welcomed everyone with some awesome Sampler T-shirts:
That evening was Sampler’s Summer Soiree, so everyone joined us for some delicious pizza at a local spot here in Toronto. It was a great time to share some of the day’s learnings, and for everyone to get a chance to mingle with each of the teams and investors here at Sampler.
Shopper Futures is a great opportunity for us to spend a more concentrated amount of time getting to know our partners. It was really nice to put a face to the names. As a developer, you don’t always get a chance to meet the clients. This was an opportunity for me to actually spend time with them and be reminded of how important the problem we solve is to big organizations like Mondelez – Mannix Wong, Developer at Sampler
During their visit, Mondelez was able to experience Sampler’s thriving startup culture while working hard to establish a program set to launch in Q4 2015. We are so grateful for the experience and happy the RITZ team liked charades as much as we do!
